So, Why an Irish shop? or  " Be careful what you wish for. . .  "Who would have dreamed?

Certainly not me! An Irish Shop? In Baraboo, Wisconsin?

I have spent the past 20 years working in Madison. When it came time for a re-evaluation of my life style and priorities I took a break from the drive and professional path.

In 1999 the upstairs of the "Corner On Wisconsin" complex was taking shape in Downtown Baraboo. I happened to be helping out at the Garden Party Cafe on the first level, saving some money for my second trip to Ireland. One afternoon the "girls" were discussing ideas for specialty retail shops in the upper level. I blurted out that I should open an Irish shop. Believe me, I WAS JOKING! But as the idea spread and the support system took shape so did the shop. An Siopa Eire, " The Ireland Shop" in Gaelic was born.
After 2 years I am working harder than I ever have and having more fun working than I ever have.
This was meant to be.

So, be careful what you wish for. You just might get it.
